2023 ASHBA Building Conference – Build-AK

The annual building conference and board meeting was held November 1-4  at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Anchorage and was attended by home builder members and non-members from across the state. This year featured NAHB National Area 15 Chairperson, Rick Massey, who shared many experiences from the other four Area 15 state’s local associations and installed our 2024 President, David Bunts.  Angela Rodell, prior CEO for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, a state-owned investment management company responsible for managing the State of Alaska’s multibillion sovereign wealth fund, was our speaker for the Installation Banquet. The four-day education schedule included classes and seminars with something for everyone in the building industry.  The NAHB Gold Key Reception featured excellent food, including exceptional oysters and was enjoyed by all.  The State Build-PAC auction topped off a very successful conference!  Congratulations to Eric Visser, Builder of the Year and Amber Goggia, Associate of the Year.
